Accommodations & Meals ←
We have a warm and intimate beautiful hunting lodge with all of the old world charm of an elegant hunting camp of a past era with all of the convenience of a modern hunting lodge. We have tried to strike the perfect balance between being as close to nature as possible with the creature comforts that make life easier. We have three charming and well appointed thatch roof bungalows that sleep two people each. Our solar powered private bungalows are modern, clean and very comfortable all with en suite bathrooms. We are here to attend to your every need as well as our warm and friendly staff who provide daily maid and laundry service.
A full hearty hot breakfast will start your day off well! Breakfast changes from day to day to keep it interesting usually eggs and bacon, sausage or steak, freshly baked bread, toast, cereal, yogurt, juice, coffee and tea.
Often hunters take lunch packs into the bush so they do not have to return to Elephant Camp during the midday, however should you wish to have a more leisurely lunch back at camp taking a break from hunting or having a nap, we will certainly be happy to do that. Of course you will always be accompanied by a cool box in the car filled with a variety of drinks and water as well as a snack.
After a long day of hunting the thought of a cool beer or refreshing cocktail back at camp overlooking the lake is an inviting one! With sundowner in hand you can watch as the last bits of light disappear into the night. It is certainly one of the great moments of hunting when you get to settle down into a comfortable chair and reflect on all of the sights and experiences of the day by the fire with friends.
Most meals are cooked outdoors over coals or on an open fire. We bake fresh bread daily and as much as possible comes from our garden. We enjoy sharing our homemade specialties and most of what we make is from scratch. We try to include a variety of game meat and local favorites so you can try different things throughout your stay, however we also offer another option at dinner such as beef, pork, chicken or fish to accommodate all tastes. And of course dessert is always on the menu!
We also offer a small selection of fine South African wines and a full stocked bar, it’s best to let us know what you like to drink so we can be sure to have it for you while you are here.
We eat under our elegant and comfortable thatched roof lapa in our open plan dining room and lounge area. Every night we spend the evenings under the stars marveling at the milky way around the fire pit enjoying camaraderie and sharing some stories. Our camp is lit with candles in the evenings which beckons us back to times gone by and a peacefulness prevails. We want you to really leave the world behind and be able in immerse yourselves in the wondrous and magical experience of being in Africa.
We would be happy to help you celebrate a special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, graduation… Or even a wedding!
